There are some days when the stars align; your hair looks fabulous, your husband is clever and your children are behaved. Then there are most days. Being a mother is not easy. You are rewarded with fabric-altering, purpose-giving love but also challenged with temper tantrums, sparring personalities and sleep. With each day that passes you alternately long for the day in the future when your daughter gives up her pacifier while missing the day your son took his first step.  Regardless of where you are, what your hair is doing, what your child is not doing the love you create supports, defines and shines.

“Accept the children the way we accept trees—with gratitude, because they are a blessing—but do not have expectations or desires. You don’t expect trees to change, you love them as they are.”
― Isabel Allende
